Campus Ministry

Everyone knows the life of a college student can be hectic and overwhelming at times. Homework, exams, a job…  Sometimes just finding a moment to breathe can be tough. That's why we bring Campus Ministry to you. One night a week we meet with other college students for an hour to have a Bible study in a more relaxed atmosphere. Campus Ministry is a good way to make new friends on your campus and to find a moment to yourself. Each week we tackle a new topic. Questions like, "Does God really love me?" and "Did Jesus really exist?" are discussed. We meet Mondays at Portland State University at 8:00PM and Thursdays at Mt. Hood Community College at 7:30PM.

Children's Ministry

Sunday morning at AWC means Sunday School! Kids of all ages find themselves learning the exciting stories of Noah and the Ark or Peter walking on the water. Each week our staff takes time to make sure each child feels welcome and is having a great time. Kids have the opportunity to play games, make crafts, sing songs and sometimes even find time for a snack!

Between Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat and our semi-annual KICK (Kids In Christ's Kingdom) events, there is always something special on the agenda for our kids.

Regular children's activities include: Sunday School Sunday 9:45 am
K.I.C.K. 1st Sunday 10:30 am

Youth Group

The youth group at AWC (AWaCk) knows how to have fun and worship God, usually at the same time! Geared for young people between the ages of 12-25, Wednesday night Youth Services bring another opportunity for everyone to feel at home. The Youth Worship Team brings contemporary praise and worship songs. The message is always exciting, Bible-based, and relevant to the questions YOU want answered.

Many weekends there are special Youth Activities planned: an annual Snow Trip, Youth Camp, Youth Convention, the Corn Maize, All-Night Lock-In, Christmas Tree Lighting, Bible Quizzing, overnight Beach Trip. The list really does go on and on. Catch us any Wednesday night at 7:30!

Young Adults

Steadfast is the young adult group of AWC. Steadfast's primary purpose is to see young adults become committed followers of Jesus Christ. At a time when faith and Christianity are under attack on all fronts, Steadfast exists to help young adults ground themselves in the Word of God. Steadfast is also a source of Christian fellowship, where believers can come together and grow spiritually with one another.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
I Corinthians 15:58
